The surgery is performed on prominent or outstanding ears usually for cosmetic reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure is generally performed after 4 years of age. Most patients experience an improved appearance to the ear. However, in some cases the ears still appear different and in some cases the ears revert to their original position.
