Martin E. Anderson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Martin Anderson was born and raised in Mount Prospect, Illinois, in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he graduated Cum Laude with majors in both Honors Biology and Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Anderson then attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
He completed a five-year Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Saint Louis University. During residency he completed research on the sinonasal microbiome in chronic rhinosinusitis and examined the role of effector and regulatory T-cells in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea. He received the Annual Resident Research Award, a recognition for excellence in resident research.
After residency, Dr. Anderson completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, consistently one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the US.
Dr. Anderson enjoys listening to and playing music. He sings baritone and plays the tenor saxophone and string bass. He relishes in almost every outdoor activity and he loves his Chicago sports teams.
Dr. Anderson is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is on staff at several hospitals including Lutheran General Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and the Golf Surgical Center.
Dr. Anderson enjoys treating both adults and children and has particular expertise in pediatric ear, nose, and throat disorders. He focuses on problems of the tonsils, adenoids, sinuses, airway, voice, neck, ears and hearing loss.
